Exploring Cambodia

After Phuket I am now in Siem Reap, Cambodia to experience more about such a fascinating country, the temple of Angkor are what puts this country on the map. if you are lucky enough to go experience it early in the morning far from the tourist crowds, you too can feel like an explorer.

Angkor Wat is the most well known of them and is also famed for being the largest religious monument in the world. I cannot see how this did not make the top seven for the world. It's huge and the best thing about these monuments is that you can walk around them up close and take in every detail.

That's not the only one! I don't know the names of all of them them but the other ones that catch the eye are Bayon and Ta Prohm. I believe that Ta Prohm has been the one used as a filming location for Films such as Kingsman and Tomb Raider.

Don't remember the name of this one but it was intriguing to explore
Bayon Temple, probably 2nd best to Angkor Wat

Ta Prohm

That's not all, an hour journey on a Tuk Tuk, you can find a more obscure temple called Being Mealea for cheaper entry ($5.) It is definitely worth seeing and feels much more in the jungle.

The ruins can be viewed up close like this

You can occasionally see people getting their wedding pictures done in traditional Khmer dress
