My Top 10 Cities in the World (As of 2019)
I have been to many cities in the world, that goes without saying, as a kid I had always been fascinated by urban architecture especially those of Asian cities. But what makes a city great? I have compiled this list of cities I've enjoyed, with loads of places to eat at and visit but also the safety and hospitality of the locals. I will first have three honourable mentions as there were too many for this list but my three are Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and New York.
10. Hanoi, Vietnam
Starting off with in my opinion, the best country I have ever visited and Hanoi has a great classical Asian vibe to it, there's plenty of places to eat, the lake is a nice and peaceful place. There's great bars where the beer is super cheap and you can have the time of your life. There's plenty of museums such as the Hanoi Hilton and also the Temple of Literature which I recommend paying a visit.
9. Istanbul Turkey
Way back in 2015, I went to Istanbul with my dad and sister. This place is huge, vibrant and full of fascinating historical sites such as the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and countless more. The food there is delicious and if you want a souvenir you can head over to the Grand Bazaar which is gargantuan.

8. Barcelona, Spain
I have been here twice, first time aged five and second three years ago. I definitely should return here, it has lively beaches, I've heard about the great nightlife and the weather is scorchingly good. Iconic sites I've seen here especially in Park Güell are quite a site and not to forget the Sagrada Familia. Perfect weather to sit down outside a tapas bar to sip on a cold Spanish beer.
7. Vancouver, Canada
When I was 11 I went to Vancouver on a family holiday as part of a trip to the states. Vancouver is constant green and while we expect Canada to be cold and snowy, Vancouver has great summer weather, very warm people and many natural sites to explore.6. Edinburgh, Scotland
You'd definitely expect a city from my homeland to be on this list and it certainly isn't the dump that Glasgow is. In contrast, Edinburgh has charming architecture, a great museum, many serene parks and of course the amazing Edinburgh castle. Edinburgh also has a special place in my Heart as it is also the home of Tynecastle park, the best stadium in the SPL.
5. Kyoto, Japan
On a trip to Japan, it is essential to head to Kyoto, while most of Japan is an ultra-modern country full of the peak of technological advancements. Kyoto has some of the best preserved historical sites in Japan with countless immaculate temples.
4. Bangkok, Thailand
This place gets a bad reputation, but in reality it is a backpacker's paradise. You can have tasty Thai cuisine at a great price along with a Chang beer. The Khao San road is a perfect place to go for some beers and during the day, you can see the amazing temples of Wat Pho and Wat arun.
3. Hong Kong
Hong Kong will blow your mind, it's got seven million people within an area the size of just about Glasgow and Edinburgh combined. It's the definition of urban, with skyscrapers everywhere you look. You will not run out of fun in Hong Kong whether it is having the street food in Mong Kok, seeing the Buddha statue in Lantau or being completely blown away at the peak.
2. Seoul, South Korea
This place is one of the greatest places I've ever been to despite spending just a few days here. It has constant energy, there is even an area known as Itaewon which is like little America with bars as far as the eye can see and also Hongdae which has some great places to go for a drink. It's never a dull moment with great people and of course amazing historical monuments such as the unforgettable palaces.
