A great Way To Celebrate The End Of My Quarantine
After I came back from Poland, I had received an email stating that I must stay at home, not even leave the house to go to the shop or walk my dog. The time I spent was really dull, only being able to go outside into my garden for fresh air. When my dad told me about the idea of going for a hike on the day I no longer have to keep inside my house, I said it was definitely something that we should do.
Our walk was the Brack and also connected is Cnoc Coinnich, these mountains are known as Corbetts which are Scottish mountains too short to be Munros. This hike is located right next to Arrochar and Loch Long which is at the very north of Loch Lomond and adjacent to Loch Long.
The hike started out nice and easy on a path lined with rows of pine trees, as we got more distance on the mountain, we found ourselves tackling a very steep climb. Even though the climb was painfully steep, we managed to reach the top of the Brack and found some insane views of the landscape above the clouds.
However, we weren't finished at the top of the Brack and headed all the way up to Cnoc Coinnich, my dad left the backpack behind and we were both equipped each with a water bottle. Halfway up to the top, I ran out of water, but managed to push on to the top and it was spectacular. Right above the clouds with views of the summits of various Munros. I can see why they call this place the Arrochar Alps.
The descent without water was tough, but when we got back to the backpack, it was a simple, but very steep descent down to the path to bring us back to the car park. Walking through the pine trees felt wonderful and once we finally reached some flat path, it felt much better. As we made our way back to the car park, even the views of the Lochs and the mountains were scenic.
Great walk!
