About
The purpose of this blog is that I document the different places I travel to and the adventures I get myself into. I like to go to places I have never been, when it comes to travel, I am very adventurous, going in head first and without fear. I like to keep this blog politically neutral and not a way of preaching in any way. Only thing divisive about me may be that I am also an unapologetic Jambo who will wear my maroon jersey no matter where I go.
In primary school I was always overlooked, my teachers and the staff in the school thought I had learning difficulties because my writing was ineligible, I was incapable of doing maths and found it exceptionally difficult to concentrate on mind numbing tasks. This led to them not teaching me properly and even though I was able to do other things really well, I had been pigeonholed throughout my time in primary school.
Starting high school was difficult to adjust to, I had to spend a great amount of time in S1 to S3 working on subjects I despised such as maths which I had spent too much time doing for no real point. In high school there was a bright side, my eccentric nature meant that I had won the hearts of most people in my classes and I had made great friends during my time there. I had discovered talent of languages when I had started to improve my French knowledge more and more. This motivated me to go on to learning Spanish which has led to many opportunities I have made for myself now. On April the 27th 2018 I had finally left high school and decided to take a gap year so I can travel and do volunteering in different parts of the world and that is the story so far.
Some Things About Me
- I am from Scotland and I have lived in East Renfrewshire my whole life, however I now study at Stirling University and stay on campus there. I study Spanish and Law and my favourite subjects in school were Spanish and Modern Studies.
- I am of Scottish, English, Gibraltarian and Spanish ancestry. I am a descendant of both the Picassos and Rob Roy Macgregor.
- The first time I went abroad without my parents was a school trip to Madrid in June 2015, first time I properly went abroad independently was in January 2019 to Thailand.
- My biggest obsession before travelling was actually video games, my favourite video game being Minecraft. I used to play Minecraft all day on weekends, although I play video games much less now, I occasionally play Nintendo Switch with my flatmates.
- Languages are both a hobby of mine and a special talent. I can speak English, Spanish and Portuguese fluently. I can sort of speak French and Italian, I'm trying to learn Russian and when I was in Japan I learned a bit of Japanese. In short I can speak 3-6 languages.
- As previously stated, I am a lifelong supporter of the Heart of Midlothian, you may have seen me wearing my shirt in some of my pictures. I love to watch sport, (mostly football and basketball but mostly football) I'd say for NBA I like the Chicago Bulls and other football teams I properly support are Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Flamengo.
- I am disabled, I have ASD, dysgraphia and dyscalculia. I was diagnosed with ASD aged 15, however I don't see it as a large part of who I am or use it as a way of trying to be a professional victim as I have to admit I have had very fortunate circumstances.
A Brief History
I was born on November 27th 2000 in Glasgow and have lived in the suburbs of East Renfrewshire my whole life, as a young kid I was always fascinated by discovering new things, adventures and different places around the world. As a kid during the summer, I would go on typical family holidays to places such as Spain and Italy and even got the chance to visit the United states a couple of times too.In primary school I was always overlooked, my teachers and the staff in the school thought I had learning difficulties because my writing was ineligible, I was incapable of doing maths and found it exceptionally difficult to concentrate on mind numbing tasks. This led to them not teaching me properly and even though I was able to do other things really well, I had been pigeonholed throughout my time in primary school.
